Start your Olympiad week with a journey through Luxembourg’s breathtaking natural and cultural landscapes. The day is dedicated to UNESCO – whether you hike through the fairy-tale rock formations of the Mëllerdall or stroll through the historic old town of Luxembourg City. This day uniquely blends nature, culture and international heritage.

PRE-PROGRAMME – Discover Luxembourg’s UNESCO Treasures
Today we head to southern Luxembourg – the dynamic Minett region. Once shaped by heavy industry, it now flourishes as a unique biosphere landscape. Hike through the UNESCO-designated area around Fond-de-Gras and experience nature’s remarkable comeback. Alternatively, you can once again explore Luxembourg City – by bike or on foot via the permanent Wenzel and Vauban trails.

A worthy finale
To bring the IVV Olympiad to a close, one last unforgettable adventure awaits you: a traditional IVV walk – at your own pace and according to your preference over 5 km, 10 km or 20 km – in the beautiful town of Vianden.

Let yourself be enchanted by this unique setting: nestled in the romantic Our valley, Vianden reveals its special charm with winding streets, lovingly restored houses, and an atmosphere where history comes alive. Towering above the town, the majestic Vianden Castle stands proudly – one of the most important and best-preserved medieval structures in Europe. The view from above over the valley and the rooftops is simply breathtaking.

This walk is more than just a final program item – it is a shared experience, a moment to pause, enjoy, and celebrate together. A dignified and emotional conclusion to an Olympiad full of encounters, movement, and enthusiasm.
