Key Milestones of the IVV Olympiad

The IVV Olympiad takes place every two years in a member country of the IVV. It is a multi-day popular sports festival open to everyone. The IVV Olympiad includes walking, swimming, cycling, and other popular sports disciplines. The accompanying programme offers many opportunities to build and maintain international friendships in a harmonious atmosphere.

1989

Valkenburg, Netherlands

The premiere: history was made in Valkenburg – the starting point of the international IVV Olympiad.

1991

Schömberg, Germany

The movement gains momentum: in Schömberg, the concept of international connection through activity took shape.

1993

Ribeauvillé – France

Amid vineyards and timber-framed houses: Ribeauvillé combined culture, cuisine, and hiking joy.

1995

Athen/Amaroussi – Greece

In the shadow of ancient temples: an IVV Olympiad rich in history and Mediterranean flair.

Vierumäki – Finland

Bibione – Italy
